Cancun Palace Due to inclement weather in Cancun, there have been construction delays beyond our control and therefore, They have been forced to postpone the openingdate to February 14, 2007.
All Cancun Palace reservations affected by this change will be protected as follows at the original rate paid:
Reservations traveling with Adults only and scheduled to arrive from Feb 10 - Feb 13, 2007 will be protected at Sun Palace
Reservations traveling with children and scheduled to arrive from Feb 10 - Feb 13, 2007 will be protected at Moon Palace.

Beach Palace Due to some further delays in the contruction/refurbishing of Beach Palace, the resort's opening date has been postponed to June 1st, 2007 instead of April 1st. 2007 as previously advised.

January 29, 2007


Sun Palace As of today we are happy to announce that Sun Palace is fully operational with the exception of the Convention Center and the Thai lounge. These facilities are slated to open on February 8th. There are no signs of construction work at this time.

January 15, 2007


Sun Palace Due to some unexpected issues, the Sun Palace will close from January 15th through January 28th. The resort will reopen on January 29th. Most guests staying or scheduled to arrive at the Sun Palace will be accommodated at Le Blanc Spa Resort. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause.

January 3, 2007


Cancun Palace Due to some further delays in the construction/refurbishing of Cancun Palace, the resort's opening date has been postponed to February 10, 2007 instead of January 14, 2007 as previously advised. Palace Resorts will protect all existing reservations at Moon Palace, Aventura Spa Palace and Sun Palace (these two resorts for adult's only) based on availability. Please contact the travel professional your reservation was booked through to change your reservation.

December 13, 2006 Updates


Cancun Palace

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Cancun Palace reopening date has been postponed to January 14, 2007. All bookings scheduled to arrive from December 24, 2006 - January 13, 2007 will be protected at Moon Palace (starting December 30, 2006) or Sun Palace.

Sun Palace
The Sun Palace will open on December 24, 2006 as previously advised; however, due to the delayed opening of Cancun Palace, we will be accepting families with children from December 24, 2006 - January 13, 2007. For those guests reserved at Sun Palace who prefer to be transferred to an Adults only resort, we will be happy to accommodate them at Le Blanc Spa Resort.

Beach Palace

Due to unexpected delays, the opening date for the Beach Palace has been postponed until April 1, 2007.

September 25, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace

As a temporary measure, and until further notice, restaurants Mundaca and Ventanas will be serving only dinner (a la carte); Instead, breakfast and lunch is being served at MoMoNoHana and El Greco restaurants respectively.

Playacar Spa & Golf Club
At the end of present month will begin the maintenance works at the Playacar golf course that will include a new irrigation system, improvements of the artificial lakes and driving range. It is expected the works will last between 4 and 5 months. During this period the course will remain open.
In reference to the Cancun Classic 2006 tournament that will take place next month, it has been decided to cancel the rounds corresponding to the Playacar course. The tournament will take place only at the Moon Spa & Golf Club.

August 25, 2006 Updates


Beach Palace

The resort will not be opening on December 24 as originally advised. The new opening date is February 1, 2007. All existing reservations can be protected at any of our hotels.

Cancun Palace and Sun Palace
These resorts are on schedule with estimated opening date of Dec 24, 2006. We will keep you posted with any new information.

August 21, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace

Beginning August 22, restaurant Mundaca will be closed for breakfast and lunch. Instead, restaurants MoMo NoHana and El Greco will serve breakfast and lunch respectively.

The morning activities that currently take place in the South section are now offered in the North section.

July 25, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace

Restaurant La Hacienda will be closed from July 29 to the 31st. There will be buffet service and grill in the South Snack.

Restaurant Mundaca will be closed from August 1st to the 4th. There will be buffet service and grill in the South Snack.

Restaurant La Trattoria will be closed from August 5 to the 8th. Restaurant La Huerta will be serving the menu.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort

We have added a new climbing tower for the enjoyment of our guests. It is a freestanding structure that rises 21 feet (6.50m) into the air and is available from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Reservations are required and can be made directly at the resort. The requirements are:

Be 12 years of age or older Wear tennis shoes and appropriate attire (sports clothing) The climbing will take place only under supervision

April 25, 2006 Updates


Xpu-Ha Palace

Due to some further delays in the construction/refurbishing of Xpu-Ha Palace, the hotel's opening date has been postponed to June 1, 2006 instead of May 15, 2006 as previously advised. April 24, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace

On April 17 the Thai lounge opened its doors. Located on the south section of the resort, it serves Thai hors d'oeuvres and drinks from 10:00pm to 2:00am.

Cozumel Palace

Playa Mia Grand Beach Park, the beach where Cozumel Palace's guests can enjoy non-motorized water sports, is open from Monday through Saturday until further notice.

April 12, 2006 Updates


Xpu-Ha Palace

The resort's opening date has been postponed to May 15, 2006. Palace Resorts will protect all existing reservations at Moon Palace, Aventura Spa Palace, or Playacar Palace based on availability.

Cozumel Palace

We are happy to announce that Cozumel Palace is ahead of schedule and will have its grand opening Saturday, March 25, 2006. The hotel will be fully operational and all services will be available.

Vallarta Palace

The Vista Vallarta Golf Club (Nicklaus and Weiskopf courses) will be holding a professional event from March 23 to April 3, 2006. These courses will be closed to the public during these dates. Golf will be available at Marina Vallarta Golf Club from 10:30am and Flamingos Golf Club from 7:00am.

Aventura Spa Palace

Mundaca: As of Feb 3rd, Mundaca restaurant reopens serving Argentinean cuisine. Elevators: Be advised that there will be minimal construction due to the incorporation of elevators in all buildings. We're expecting this project to be finished by mid-March. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience it may cause during your stay.

Moon Spa and Golf Club - The hours of operation for La Trattoria and Bambu restaurants have recently changed. The new schedule is as follows:

Continental breakfast: From 6:00am to 7:00am
Breakfast buffet: From 7:00am to 11:00am
Lunch buffet: From Noon to 4:30pm

January 18, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace
Aventura Spa Palace resumed its adults only concept as of January 9, 2006. Only adults 18 years of age or older will be accepted.

January 10, 2006 Updates


Aventura Spa Palace
Tennis: As of December 22nd, the new hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Mundaca Restaurant: It is scheduled to begin operating on January 30th serving Argentinean cuisine.
Thai lounge: It is scheduled to open on February 15th (lounge bar)
Transportation: The complementary bus service to Moon Palace will depart at 8:50am with a stop at the Playacar Plaza at 9:20am and arrives at Moon Palace at 10:10 am. It returns from Moon Palace at 3:00 pm with a stop in Playacar Plaza and arrives at Aventura Spa Palace at 4:30 pm.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - The 24 hour room service that was scheduled to begin on January 1st had to be postponed until April when all repair work is completed.

Playacar Palace - The spa and beauty salon located at the Playacar Spa & Golf club are operational. The fitness center, also located at the golf club house will be ready by the end of this month. Beach volleyball won't be available during the first quarter, until the beach is restored. The tennis courts, located just 5 minutes from the resort won't be opened in the first quarter. Cafe del mar restaurant now serves Mexican buffet for dinner, replacing the a la carte menu. Aquabar bar added a new service from 8:00am to 11:00pm. The complementary bus service to Moon Palace departs at 11:00 am daily and returns at 6:00pm. The dates mentioned above are tentative and subject to change.

Cancun and Riviera Maya tours - A new tour has been added in the Palace Passport for the Cancun and the Riviera Maya resorts. As of January 2nd, "Sail & Snorkel" began its operation and the excursion includes sailing in a catamaran, snorkeling and a day at the beach at playa Maroma.

Sun Palace - This hotel will also be remodeled and Jacuzzis will be added to all the Jr. Suites. A new full service Spa will also be added. The hotel will become Couples only when it opens in December of 2006.

Cancun Palace - This property will also undergo renovations. The property will feature Jacuzzis in all rooms with balcony, a new Spa, convention facilities, a kids club and 4 specialty restaurants. The expected opening date is December 2006.

Cozumel Palace - This resort is expected to open on April 1, 2006

Xpu-Ha Palace - Xpu-Ha Palace will open with 144 rooms on May 1, 2006.

December 14, 2005, Resorts Opening Dates


Following is an update on the resorts' opening dates:

Aventura Spa Palace - The resort is fully operational with the exception of the tennis courts, bicycle service and Mundaca Restaurant. The Restaurant will open shortly.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - This resort will partially open on December 22nd. The golf course is scheduled to open on the same date.

Playacar Palace - The grand opening is for December 15, 2005, however, the resort will begin operations on December 9th.

Beach Palace - Due to the damages caused by the hurricane, the Beach Palace will be completely rebuilt with new first class facilities. New convention facilities and a full service Spa will also be added. The expected opening date is December 1, 2006.

Sun Palace - This hotel will also be remodeled and Jacuzzis will be added to all the Jr. Suites. A new full service Spa will also be added. The hotel will become Couples only when it opens in the Summer of 2006.

Cancun/Riviera Maya Tours Isla Mujeres: It will resume operation on December 22nd along with the reopening of Moon Palace.

Wet'nWild's: The tentative opening date is for December 22nd.

New tour: A new tour has been added to the "Cancun/Riviera Maya Included Tours" offered by Palace Resorts. It's called "Sail & Snorkel" and it will be effective on January 2nd of 2006 at all Cancun/Riviera Maya properties.
This new excursion will be included in the Palace passport. Tour information and schedule will be available shortly.

Hurricane Wilma - News Update November 16, 2005


Following are the latest updates concerning Palace Resorts:

Xpu-Ha Palace - This property continues to be closed. A reopening date has yet to be determined. Refer to this site for further updates.

Moon Spa & Golf Club - The new opening date for the golf course is November 30th.

Aventura Spa Palace - As of November 10, the Business Center at Aventura Spa Palace began its regular schedule. The hours are: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays the hours are from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Restaurant La Huerta, located in the North section of Aventura Spa Palace, is serving Mexican cuisine instead of its traditional California light menu. This is a temporary change, while restaurant La Hacienda, in the South section, is closed.

November 11, 2005 - After another assessment of the condition of the resorts in Cancun and Cozumel, following are the updated opening dates:

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - The Moon Palace is now expected to reopen by December 15, 2005 with all its rooms, including the Golf Suites. The Sunrise and Nizuc lobbies, all indoor restaurants, pools, club house, Spa and the convention center will be fully operational at this time as well. The golf course is expected to open on November 20, 2005. Weddings will resume on January 2, 2006. We are working in moving all scheduled weddings to the Aventura Spa Palace based on availability.

Sun Palace, Cancun Palace, Beach Palace and Cozumel Palace - The Sun Palace, Cancun Palace and Beach Palace located in the Cancun Hotel Zone suffered significant damages and are expected t o undergo upgrades and renovations prior to their reopening. It is anticipated that all three resorts including Cozumel Palace will open in Summer 2006. Additional information as to the renovation will be provided as it becomes available.

playacar Palace - The grand opening has been scheduled for December 15, 2005 - 3 days earlier than anticipated. All rooms, common areas and meeting facilities will be available at this time.

November 09, 2005 - The Aventura Spa Palace opened on Saturday, November 5th. It is expected the resort will be fully operational by November 30th. All the restaurants in the North section, with the exception of "El Greco" and all amenities from the North section are fully operational.

Hurricane Wilma - News Update November 1, 2005


Following are the latest updates concerning Palace Resorts:

Aventura Spa Palace - Due to the resort's location and structure, the Aventura Spa Palace did not suffer major damages and the North Section of the resort is scheduled to open on November 5, 2005 with 500 rooms. We expect the hotel to be open all rooms by November 30th .

The lobby, beach, Spa, beauty salon, yoga temple, fitness center, pools and convention center are in good condition and will be operational by November 5th . All the restaurants in the North section, with the exception of "El Greco", will be fully operational by this time as well. Weddings will be available as of November 5th.

In addition, please be advised that due to the circumstances, we will be allowing children throughout the resort from November 5, 2005 - January 8, 2006. Compensation will not be provided for customer issues related to children.

We would also like to clarify that there will be some visible construction and noise in hallways and common areas from November 5th - November 30th .

playacar Spa & Golf Club - The Golf Course is now open and accepting tee time reservations. For tee time reservations, please click www.Palaceresorts.com/Golf/playaGolf/Golf_Intro.asp The Spa at the club house is expected to reopen by February 2006.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - The Moon Palace is expected to reopen by December 20th, 2005 with approximately 1,500 rooms. The Sunrise and Nizuc lobbies, all indoor restaurants, Golf course, pools and the convention center will be fully operational at this time as well. The additional 531 rooms, the Golf Suites, Club house and the Spa are expected to open by February 2006. Weddings will resume on January 1, 2006 . We are working in moving all scheduled weddings to the Aventura Spa Palace based on availability. If you have a wedding scheduled at the Moon Palace, please contact our Wedding Coordinators at 1-800-635-1836 ext 6010.

Customer Service Issues - For any customer service issues related to hurricane Wilma, please contact the agency that you purchased your vacation package from. We are working with all travel partners to resolve customer service issues in a prompt manner.

passport promotion (Cancun & Riviera Maya resorts) - We will continue offering the passport promotion to all of our guests as the resorts begin operating. The tour of Isla Mujeres will resume operation on December 15th. Wet 'n Wild park is scheduled to reopen on December 20th. Chichen-Itza, Chichen-Itza (light & sound), Tulum, Ek-Balam/Valladolid, and Coba will be operating in their normal schedules as of November 5th at the Aventura Spa Palace and thereafter at all the resorts.
The $50.00 voucher towards Golf may be used at the playacar Spa & Golf Club The $15.00 voucher towards Spa may be used at the Spa at Aventura Spa Palace The $25.00 voucher towards Car rental may be used at any resort

Reservations - All clients booked at the Beach Palace, Cancun Palace and Cozumel Palace wishing to change their stay to Aventura Spa Palace starting on November 5th will be honored the original rate they paid.
All clients booked at the Cancun Palace and Cozumel Palace wishing to change their stay to Moon Palace beginning on December 20th will be honored the original rate they paid.

Hurricane Wilma - News Update


October 28, 2005 - Palace Resorts' line of all-inclusive resorts throughout Cancun, the Riviera Maya, and Cozumel suffered damages following huricane Wilma, a category 4 storm that passed over the Yucatan peninsula last weekend. After a preliminary assessment a tentative schedule has been developed according to the latest available information:

Riviera Maya

Aventura Spa Palace (North Section) - It is estimated that the spa section will reopen on November 5th, 2005. The resort will be fully operational with the exception of the "El Greco" restaurant and some repairs will still be taking place in the hallways. This section will remain adults-only.

Aventura Spa Palace (Sourth Section) - This section is estimated to open by November 30th, 2005. please note that children will be allowed in this section only.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort - It is expected it will reopen by December 20th, 2005 with approximately 1,500 rooms.

playacar Palace - Palace Resorts is pleased to announce the opening of their newest resort on December 18th, 2005. New information will be updated soon on our web site at pippins Vacations about this exciting new property!

Hotel Zone - Cancun

Beach Palace - It is slated to fully reopen on December 20th, 2005

Sun Palace - It is projected to reopen on February 1st, 2006.

Cozumel Palace - Palace Resorts continues assessing the damages. An opening date has yet to be determined.

Aventura Spa Palace . Reopening date


October 5, 2005 After much anticipation, the North section of Aventura Spa Palace opened on Saturday, October 1st. The spa facilities, common areas, pools, and restaurants are fully operational at this time. La Trattoria restaurant, a NEW Italian restaurant located in the same section, also opened its doors on the same date.

Chankanaab Tour


October 5, 2005 The Chankanaab tour offered to Cozumel Palace guests as a part of the Palace passport promotion has re-opened after Hurricane Emily and is now available to our mutual clients.

Wireless Internet Service



As of October 1st
all Palace Resorts properties including will be offering wireless Internet service in both public areas and guestrooms at no cost. The Golf suites at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort do not have access to wireless Internet service. Internet access in lobbies and business centers will have a cost of USD$2.50 for every 15 minutes.

Vallarta Palace - Rancho pancho Tour



October 5, 2005
For security purposes, the minimum age to go on The Rancho pancho Tour (Horseback Riding tour) offered as part of the Palace passport is 10 years old.

Xpu-Ha Palace Updates


August 31, 2005 After further assessment of the damages at Xpu-Ha Palace, the repairs are going to take longer than expected. At this time, we do not have a definite opening date. We will keep you informed of new developments.

Aventura Spa Palace Updates


August 16, 2005 After further assessment, the North Section of Aventura Spa Palace will be reopening on October 1st, 2005. The following list includes the restaurants and bars that will be opening as well as the hours of operation.

Moon Palace Updates


August 15, 2005 La Gondola restaurant located at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort opened its door yesterday. La Fragata restaurant, also located Moon Palace, is scheduled to open by the end of the month.

Xpu-Ha Palace Updates


August 8, 2005Due to the severe damage Xpu-Ha Palace sustained from hurricane Emily, the resort is now scheduled to re-open on December 1st, 2005. We had anticipated for repairs to take between 60-90 days but after further assessment they are going take longer than expected. We will continue updating on the progress of the construction/refurbishing of Xpu-Ha Palace.

Hurricane Emily update


July 28, 2005 Beach Palace, Cancun Palace, Sun Palace and Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort were not affected by Hurricane Emily and are operating as usual.

The Aventura Spa Palace and Xpu-Ha Palace, which are located in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, were less fortunate, suffering significant damages. Both resorts are currently closed. The north section of Aventura Spa Palace is slated to reopen on September 30th , while Xpu-Ha Palace is scheduled to reopen on October 31st.

Temporary changes in the tours offered in Cancun, the Riviera Maya and Cozumel.


Due to damages sustained by hurricane Emily, we have made the following changes regarding the tours included in the Palace passport promotion:

Cancun and the Riviera Maya:
The Chichen-Itza, Isla Mujeres, Coba, Ek-Balam and Wet & Wild/parque Nizuc (A new tour included within the Palace passport) are operating as usual. However, while Xpu-Ha Palace is under repairs, the Tulum/Xpu-Ha tour will include only Tulum. This tour will be referred to as Tulum-Express.

Cozumel:
The Coba and Bottom Glass Boat tours are operating in their regular schedules. The Chankanaab park is closed due to the damage caused by hurricane Emily. We will provide further information on the condition of Chankanaab as it becomes available. The Tulum/Xpu-Ha tour will include only Tulum and will be referred to as Tulum-Express.

Playacar Spa and Golf Club


The playacar golf course opened its 18 holes to the public on July 23. Transportation is being offered from any location in Cancun and the Riviera Maya (with the exception of playa del Carmen and playacar) as a part of the green fees.
